Do you know who Kylie Minogue is? Did you know that she was born in Australia? I didn't. There are also other very famous groups and artists which come from Australia, like AC/DC the very famous hard-rock band, Bee Gees, the pop – rock – R&B band who where popular in 1970. Also the big actor Heath Ledger who died recently, in 2008. He got many prices after his death. A Oscar and a golden globe.

I didn't knew that these famous people where from Australia. I thought they where from England and USA.

The Aborigines are Australia's original population. Year 1770 did the first explorer James Cooks found Australia. But the Aborigines lived in Australia at least 40 000 years before Australia started to be colonized by the British.

Why I chose to blog about this country

Hello, my name is Felicia and I'm going to blog about Australia.

First, I wasn't sure of which country to pick... I picked Ireland but then i changed my mind and picked Australia. I think Australia is very interesting with it's animal wild life, the kangaroos and koala bears, they are really cute! But one thing i don't like is the spiders and insects. Much of the animals in Australia does only exist there. I just read about a cool thing... Australia's got the most reptiles in the entire world, 775 different sorts! But I wouldn't want to see them. I think they are very scary and gross. Also does The Great Barrier Reef begins just outside the shore, so I would really like to scuba dive there. But any way, Australia is a really cool country and I'm going to enjoy writing about it.
