Why move to Australia?

Australia is a very beautiful country but I don't know if I would want to move there. There are really much insects and bugs there. I would just like to visit it, maybe a month of something like that. The environment is really different in Australia from what it is Sweden and it got lots of cool animals.

One thing I would like to see is The Great Barrier Reef on the coast of Australia. There are more than 400 different corals and more than 1500 sorts of fishes there. The Great Barrier Reef would be a really cool thing to experience.

The biggest reason for me to move there would be because it's so warm there. It got beautiful beaches with white sand. I love white sand.

When

The original population of Australia is the Aborigines. The first ones came to Australia through South-East Asia. Some say they lived there for 40 000 years before the British came, some say 70 000. The women worked with food and clothes and the men worked with hunting and collecting. The Aborigines lived in clans, many clans formed tribes.

A thing you may not know is that the boomerang is a weapon that the aborigines made famous. But it has been used in other cultures too.
In the end of the eighteenth century the British prisoners came to Australia like i wrote in the last post.

What

Australia is a free country when it comes to religion but the biggest one is Christianity, after that comes Buddhism, then Hinduism and Islam. But most of the australian people don't think that religion is a big part of their life. Some does of course. Australia is counted as one of the most non-religious countries in the world.

In Australia you talk Australian English. Im going to write a little bit history about that.

You might wonder how the English language could travel all the way to Australia? Well, Australia was a long, long time ago a prison island. British prisoners came to pay of their crimes on Australia and so the English language spread. But the Australian English does not sound the same as British English. It has some special words that the British and American English doesn't have. Some examples are: Chopper=cops, daks=pants, bloke=man.

where

Australia belongs to the continent Oceania together with New Zealand, New Guinea and some islands in the Pacific Ocean. I thought Sydney was the capital city of Australia but it's a city called Canberra. Canberra is not so far away from Sydney, just a bit in to the country.  In 2006 the population in Australia was 20 583 000 people.

The Area of Australia is 7 686 850 square kilometres. Big parts of that is just desert.

A big city in Australia is Sydney. It's known for it's big Opera house. The Opera house stands on the harbour of Sydney.

The highest point on Australia is Mount Kosciusko. It's 2228 meters high. Kebnekaise, Swedens highest mountain is 2 102, so Mount Kosciusko is a little bit higher.
